Listen to the Lowcarbshow.com weekly podcast podcast.com At lowcarbshow.com our goal is to offer good information to help you lose weight! Vincent Vegan and Marc Sage offer a weekly podcast discussing all of the ongoing things in the diet and weight loss world – we focus mostly on Low Carb and Vegetarianism but we discuss everything – here is something I found on the internet that I thought you guys might enjoy! The world’s most beautiful and famous have swallowed his advice. He wrote one of the biggest selling diet books of all time, and it was based on his extraordinary belief that you could eat as much as you desire and still lose weight. His name was Dr Robert Atkins, author of the Atkins new diet revolution. To some Dr Atkins was a hero, to others his diet was scientific heresy and potentially deadly. In a series of ground breaking experiments Horizon investigates the truth behind the most controversial diet in history. Does the Atkins diet really work and is it dangerous?

The book CALORIES DON’T COUNT by Dr. Herman Taller was the original low-carb book. Dr Atkins was the one who introduced it to a new generation.

  2. spiderman1321 says:

    his name was robert paulson

  3. alphacause says:

We even see the efficacy of a protein rich/fat rich low carbohydrate diet in large populations. There are hunter gatherer tribes all over the world NOW that don’t have access to carbohydrates, and subsist on a diet of meat, nuts, seeds, and vegetables. And even among the SEDENTARY elders who no longer hunt, they are slim and suffer no degenerative diseases. One doesn’t need a degree in nutrition to understand this, one only need look at a National Geographic special.

  4. Freedish911 says:

i love the dramatic over-the-top background music…sound like the would be theme to an Atkins Horror Film.

  5. XxPnuemaxX says:

@bundleHastings You CAN lose weight with calories in calories out with low-fat high-carb. At the price of your mood usually, and your lean body mass, and as soon as your diet is over the weight comes right back on.

  6. TheBudhistpunk says:

These fat people who have tried every diet must have magical bodies that just don’t respond like every other human.Or maybe they just have no willpower and stick to a diet for a week then give up.

  7. Gideon359 says:

Am wanna tell you why you lose weight with the atkins. when you do a low cal low fat diet you will lose weight, but after a while a month or less your body will build resistance to your low calorie low fat diet, lets say you went from 3000 to 1200 calories well in about 2 weeks your body will stop losing weight do to your body resistance to few calories and when you go back to eating 3000 calories or less 2000 your body will reserve whatever you eat pass 1200 cal until you gain the weight back.

  8. AppleSouffle says:

If you can only be rude, stop posting for the rest of your life. I’m tired of seeing juvenile posts by boys who act like their still in the 6th grade.

  9. popinjay3000 says:

why is this fat prick chucking food on the floor, while half the world is starving, putting it to one side would have made the point, the producer is a cunt

  10. Rjackman84 says:

Every diet works, but no one wants to admit you must train physically for the rest of your life. After you eat make sure to work out. If you are very obese it will take you years to loose the wait if you want to do it naturally. BTW the Spartans sure seemed like they were all on the Atkins diet. Look up what they ate.

  11. vansonbee says:

    Brian = dead now

Seriously he still a fat ass in normal standard. Less carbs = less insulin/signals for more food.

At least he a rich ED fat bastard.

  12. campbpar says:

@xMarucsFenixX Nope. Only fat sissies. whatever happened to pounds of meat and rice?

  13. campbpar says:

good. eat up four eyes, eat up.
must be hard for a rich person to be told they can’t eat something delicious

  14. xMarucsFenixX says:

@hidr0 let´s see you make a video where do incline press more than 200 pounds.

  15. hidr0 says:

@xMarucsFenixX i’m too busy laughing at your “workout” video to even reply to this bahahaha

  16. xMarucsFenixX says:

@hidr0 LOL you are just jealous that I can eat a lot without gaining much weight. I don´t eat much sugar even though my mom and grandma wants me to LOL. As I kid I ate high carb but only candy on the weekend like once a week and ice cream sometimes and I was really lean.

  17. hidr0 says:

@xMarucsFenixX you might look lean but you enjoy type 2 diabetes and heart attacks later in life.

  18. hidr0 says:

@oliviaolas as far as your body’s insulin levels are concerned all grains are essentially sugar once they enter your body. Yes whole grains have slightly higher nutrient value… but that doesn’t make it good for you. That would be like saying a cup of white sugar with a multivitamin ground up into it is healthy…

  19. oliviaolas says:

I wonder about certain aspects of this diet. LIke, I love fruit and what if I choose whole grains like brown bread instead of white food? Can that still be losing weight on a low carb plan? I could not go NO CARB I would die of sadness. This is informatove.

  20. xXxpiratexlovexXx says:

    Limiting fruit? That’s stupid

  21. 79siggy says:

Ive been doing low carb and counting calories. On a normal diet I could hardly keep my intake at 2000 cal a day. On atkins I ate as much as I wanted and I was barely pushing 1400, I just couldn’t eat any more.

  22. xMarucsFenixX says:

Yeah. I don´t want to eat unhealthy fats. Nuts are healthy but I get acne from some nuts. I almost don´t have nay acne but from nuts I get it. I have eaten a lot of carbs my whole life and never been overweight or fat. I can eat really high carb and look lean.

  23. TWCGroup says:

Veggies have never “filled me up”. They have never satiated my appetite alone. And no, you’re wrong, complex carbohydrates do not enter the blood immediately. If you want stable blood sugar don’t eat any sugar. I’ve tested this before on my low carb diet and my blood sugar is consistently 70-85 after fasting.

You’d be uncomfortable on a high fiber diet because fiber is indigestible and you wouldn’t be getting enough calories.

  24. Chaaarge says:

@TWCGroup it depends on which foods you eat. Veggies for example fill you up. and slow carbs will keep your blood sugar stable which means your apetite won’t go nuts. whenever you feel hungry eat more fiber. fiber fills you up without calories, so if you wanted to gain weight on a high fiber diet, you would be uncomfortable just because of the volume you’d have to eat

  25. TWCGroup says:

Any caloric deficit just makes you hungrier…
